Senior Programmer

Limbic Entertainment is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Programmer (m/f) for an unannounced Unreal 4 project.

As our Senior Programmer (m/f) you have great passion for game development in all areas and especially in the use of Unreal. You have already worked for several years in professional environments and shipped several products. With this know-how you will be a key player in our agile team and a central spokesperson for the team. Working with and training younger colleagues will be a very important aspect of this position. You will have a strong ownership on all game client-related development steps and will be a main contact person for leads and management.

Your tasks will include:

• Planning and implementing gameplay functionalities
• Improving and controlling the game performance
• Creating and estimating tasks and user stories
• Maintaining the product and bug fixes
• Evaluating new technologies and plugins
• Being the main contact person for other programmers providing support and training
• Communicating and supporting with other departments

Requirements:

• Several years of experience in game development, preferably PC and online games
• Several released products
• Professional experience in working with any version of the Unreal Engine
• Excellent C++ skills and well acquainted with Visual Studio
• Experienced in development environments, standards and technologies such as OOP, Design Patterns, Test Driven Development, UML, etc.
• Experience in code and data optimizing in order to improve performance and memory usage
• Experience with database programming, key-value stores and NoSQL systems is a plus
• Quick familiarization with big code bases and maintenance of third party code
• Good knowledge of unit tests and profiler tools
• You should be a problem solver who stays cool even when dealing with a high workload
• High affinity to games, internet and multimedia
• Fluent in English
• EU citizen or a valid working permit for Germany
