In order to bring even more improvements to GOG.com as a company, we need to assure that our decisions have a data-driven background. We’re seeking a lead who will initially help us build our Big Data structures, and our Big Data Platform Development Team in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing, planning and coordinating the future team’s tasks to assure effectiveness, as well as developing the team members.
  • Designing, implementing (or building) and engineering data platform solutions/ecosystem using Big Data technologies.
  • Cooperating with business users within the company and working with existing data systems to analyze and profile data sources, as well as identify and validate business rules.
  • Generating efficient data marts, analysis and reports on large data sets.
  • Building basic automations to reduce manual interventions for repeated analyses and data updates.

Job Requirements:

  • One of our base requirements is extensive experience in a commercial environment. Aside from that we expect:
  • 5+ years’ experience in working with Big Data platforms (Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence) and their implementation.
  • Expertise in technological stack (e.g. Kafka, Spark, ES, NiFi), needed to build a real time analytical system for event streams.
  • A strong understanding of new and existing data processing technologies and visualization tools, as well as experience in one or more of the following data oriented languages: Java, Python, R, Scala.
  • A strong understanding of various Big Data components, vendors and technologies such as: Hadoop, Tableau or low latency solutions.
  • Previous (and successful) experience in managing others.
  • Proficiency in project management, as well as excellent organizational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to easily communicate in English.
  • Knowledge of fundamental data transformation, cleaning, validation and statistical techniques.
  • Knowledge of relational/dimensional modeling, telemetry, data mining, predictive analytics, machine learning, and visualization is highly desirable.
