Game Designer/Level Designer

About:
Bad Tomato Games is an indie video game company in the process of creating our first game. We are looking for a skilled and creative game designer to develop and design content in order to create a unique gameplay experience that will help us break into the videogame industry.

Role:
Our ideal candidate is an avid gamer, that must be able to prototype and build levels based on ideas and sketches. You should have a good idea of what’s already out there, in terms of game mechanics and gameplay. You will be in charge of directing gameplay in order to create an impactful, memorable gameplay experience for players to enjoy. You will contribute and be part of a highly creative team (you will work very closely with the art director and programmers). You must be humble. You should possess good communication skills, and the ability to receive and give feedback is a must. You must be willing to participate in creative discussions and playtests in order to offer create a better final product. You must be a self-starter and deadline driven.

Responsibilities:
Use Unity and proprietary content tools to develop and tests prototype ideation, and iterations.
Design and implement fun, high-quality content that supports the game’s vision.
Strong understanding of game design and game balancing.
Team Player: Ability to work in collaboration with the other artists, animators and programmers.

Deliver game play levels that respect the technical limitations of the project.

Self-driven: Must have a keen intuitive sense for what works. You’re always trying to improve your abilities.
Passion for video games especially games with compelling gameplay!

Work and Educational Requirements:

3+ years of game design experience.
3+ years of level design experience.
Previous experience designing platformers and 2d side scrollers..
Must have online portfolio demonstrating relevant game design skills.

Must be willing to complete a test if requested to do so
