Backend Engineer

Donkey Crew is looking for experienced humans to join our international team of passionate artists and programmers at our newly established studio in the beautiful city of Wroclaw, Poland.

If you are enthusiastic about the prospect of making great PC games, and looking to work in an inspiring and growing environment, this is the job for you. Currently we are working on a highly innovative multiplayer game for the PC built on Unreal 4.

What you’ll do:

• Design and develop the game-server and data storage infrastructure
• Understand the tradeoff between clear and maintainable vs highly optimized code.
• Work with game developers to enhance game security without sacrificing optimization
• Work flexibly creating database improvements, tools, and processes/workflows as needed by the development teams
• Plan and act upon identified scalability improvements to maximize server uptime
• Write technical documentation and participate in code reviews to share knowledge and allow team members to fully utilize and work with new features
• Work closely in teams with designers, artists and developers to implement and optimize gameplay features and their underlying systems.

Ideally you’ll have:

• Computer Science/Engineering Bachelor's Degree or other relevant experience
• 5+ years experience developing server infrastructure and utilities
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong C# knowledge
• Comfortable with both Windows and Linux
• Experience using profiling tools
• Experience with networking and serialization fundamentals
• Experience with Riak & NoSQL a strong plus
• Experience with cloud infrastructure a plus
• Experience with Unreal 4 a plus
