GOG.com is calling out to all master engineers to join our extraordinary team as a Software Engineer and take part in the development of GOG Galaxy: our truly gamer-friendly, DRM-free, online gaming platform (GOG.com/galaxy). You will also have the opportunity to play a key role in a variety of other brand new R&D projects, while working with other engineers in SCRUM methodology. If you are a gamer yourself and value freedom of choice, optional clients and cross platform games - the GOG Galaxy Team will be a perfect place for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Shape and develop ambitious features for GOG Galaxy, combining networking, gameplay and community, experienced by millions of gamers.
  • Implement key features in GOG Galaxy SDK.
  • Implement performance measurements, testing strategies and optimizations.
  • Work with other engineers in SCRUM methodology.
  • Stay abreast of emerging new technologies, research new tools and implement best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Practical C++ knowledge.
  • Basic Python knowledge.
  • Experience with Linux platform.
  • Knowledge of Client / Server architecture.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Passion for gaming, game services, and online communities.

Pluses:

  • Ability to talk about as many of these as possible: multiplayer services in games, network protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP), NAT busting, code optimization, low level network tools and diagnosis, VoIP.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices (version control, testing, deployment etc.).
  • Experience with Unity3D and/or Unreal Engine.
  • Knowledge of programming for mobile platforms (iOS or / and Android).
