System Administrator (DBA)

We are looking for System Administrator with a passion for databases, specifically MySQL, MariaDB, and MongoDB. In this role, you will have a chance to specialize in database administration, as well as to keep your hands on administering Linux-based servers.

Your task will be to administer, configure and monitor extensive database environment including operational databases, as well as setting up of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR), maintaining technical and solution architecture and much more! We are already known for our superb quality and focus on detail so we would like to push these qualities even further to ensure performance, security, and availability of our databases.

Key skills:

• Hands on experience in administering Linux based servers (RedHat/Centos, Debian/Ubuntu)

• Experience in configuring/installing/maintaining databases (MySQL/MariaDB)

• Experience in design and implementation of dbms systems
• Knowledge of SQL ANSI standard
• Ability to write and optimize SQL statements
• Experience in implementing and maintaining backup systems

• Ability to debug performance issues. (DB and OS)

• Knowledge of Python/Bash scripting

Nice to have:

• Experience in No SQL database maintenance, such a Mongo DB
• Experience in administering cloud solutions (CloudStack, AWS, Google Cloud)

• Knowledge of Ansible or Puppet

• Experience in administering virtualization systems (KVM, LXC, VMware)

• Experience in implementing and maintaining monitoring systems


Objectives:

• Monitor, configure and optimise databases
• Cooperate with other teams like BI, backend etc.
• Ensure that databases are backed up and recoverable including testing restoration
• Maintain technical and solution architecture and documentation
• Share expertise across the team and follow best practices
