Gamedev Programmer C++/UE4 Internship

You will be a part of the creation of a first-ever VR/AR World of Science and Technology experience; a collaborative Virtual and Augmented Reality gaming platform between industry-leading scientists and universities for one of the world’s biggest industries. We are seeking a full-time VR Programmer intern to join our dedicated team in Staufen. We need your expertise in assembling client experiences and implementing required core functionalities. We believe that VR and AR are the future of scientific research and education and would like you to be a part of our future.

Responsibilities
Implement software functionalities in a self-organizing, interdisciplinary team
Write clean, well-tested, performant code
Write and maintain technical design and software system documentation
Analyze and optimize systems as required
Recognize opportunities to improve our application or general workflows, and seek to make these changes
Create and iterate new VR and AR systems for interaction and content creation

You should have experience in at least one of the following points:
C++ knowledge
Game development experience (preferably UE4)
Ability to design application architecture and communicate it to a team
Competence in writing solid, reliable, and efficient code
Self-sufficiency
BS (or higher) in Computer Science or a similar discipline (i.e. Physics, Math, EE, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Pluses:
Shipped console/PC title experience
VR and/or AR experience as a developer or user
Experience in client / server architecture as well as implementing multiplayer gameplay
Knowledge of database development (MySQL, Oracle, ... )
Familiar with: JSON, XML, JavaScript, Python

Additional Information:
Preference will be given to those who are looking for a permanent, full-time job after completing 6 months internship.
Computer science graduates and freshers are very welcome! It's a full time, on-site opportunity.

Duration: 6 months (promotion to Junior after completing the internship)
Salary: 2.200 € gross
