Technical Support Engineer / NOC Technician

The NOC is responsible for identifying and coordinating system malfunctions. The NOC is also responsible for proactive monitoring, maintenance, and reporting to prevent disruptions. The team serves as first responders when such system malfunctions occur. Coordination with other members or teams is a key responsibility in order to address and/or escalate situations to minimize impact and provide for quick resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and coordinate system malfunctions
  • Proactively monitor the health and status of the IT infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to network components, servers, applications, and services
  • Meet Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
  • Triage problems quickly and provide on-call personnel with critical information in a quick, clear, and concise manner
  • Perform defined routines and tasks with infrequent supervision
  • Perform undefined routines and tasks with frequent supervision
  • Has access to systems, passwords, and sensitive information
  • Mentor and support associate operators.

Requirements:

  • Technical support skills
  • Ability to perform tasks by established processes
  • Availability to work in shifts, including night shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Intermediate English written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintains strict punctuality
  • Demonstrate excellence in professional and customer interaction
  • Extensive understanding of common IT infrastructure, practices, procedures, and personal computers
  • Associate degree, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity of ITIL, practices or certification.
