VFX Artist

We are a group of 16 passionate game creators working on amazing titles, some of which are based in the Lord of the Rings 💍 universe, as well as some unannounced IP’s. Black Sail Games has a great organizational culture founded on respect, freedom of opinion and long-term investments into staff 😊.

Since most of our games fall into the Action Adventure genre, our ambition is to make them play and look outstanding (say AAA quality in a 10-hour game!). As our next game is about superheroes, we are searching for a passionate VFX Artist 🎆, who will make their abilities look as awesome as possible.

We are open to both more experienced and junior talent as long as you are self-driven and willing to learn. You would be working closely with our art director, animators and programmers.

Desired qualifications 🤹‍♂️

• Good eye for animation, motion design, pacing, impact, physics, etc.
• Good VFX skills (e.g. simulations, dynamics, sprites, hand drawn cartoon vfx, etc.)
• Working knowledge of industry standard graphics tools (e.g. Photoshop, After Effects)
• Ability to adapt to various art styles
• Team player attitude and good communication skills
• Familiarity with VFX implementation in Unreal Engine 4

Pluses 🤩

• Experience in any 3d graphics package as Maya, Blender, etc.
• Houdini or similar experience is a gem :)
• Familiarity with Niagara VFX system
