PolyAmorous is an ambitious indie team based in Warsaw, Poland. Our first game, the post-apocalyptic narrative adventure Paradise Lost, launched in March 2021 on PC/PS4/Xbox.

We’re looking for a game designer to play a key role in the development of a new title. In close cooperation with the game director, you’ll use engaging, methodic level design to create dynamic game flow that perfectly compliments the gameplay experience and sets the stage for endless hours of fun.

GAME DESIGNER
REMOTE / WARSAW, POLAND

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborating with the game director to translate their vision into gameplay features
  • Creating detailed documentation that clearly communicates designs to other team members, regularly updating it from concept to final feature
  • Gathering feedback from the dev team, game management, and external stakeholders and bringing it together to iterate on game design and crystallize the game director’s vision
  • Working with a UI/UX designer to ensure features produce intended UX
  • Striving to prevent potential issues that might create gameplay bugs or dissonance
  • Prototyping and tweaking existing gameplay systems
  • Taking part in sprint plannings, sprint reviews and retrospectives, and reporting progress in Jira on a daily basis
  • Problem-solving and taking initiative when things don’t go according to plan
  • Submitting stable working features via Perforce according to deadlines
  • Submitting final assets via Perforce according to deadlines

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • A proven track record of owning and contributing to engaging gameplay features Extensive knowledge of game design principles and a strong understanding of trends in the video game market
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Unreal Engine and experience scripting with blueprints
  • Experience gathering feedback and data from A/B testing, focus groups and/or end-to end playtesting to identify issues—and experience creating a plan to address them
  • High standards for the use of version control systems, in particular Perforce
  • Excellent spoken and written English

PLUSES:

  • A degree in game design
  • Experience scripting in C++
  • Experience with UX design and analysis
  • Experience working on roguelite games
