PolyAmorous is an ambitious indie team based in Warsaw, Poland. Our first game, the post-apocalyptic narrative adventure Paradise Lost, launched in March 2021 on PC/PS4/Xbox.

We’re looking for a level designer to play a key role in the development of our new title. In close cooperation with our game director, you’ll use engaging, methodic level design to create dynamic game flow that perfectly compliments the gameplay experience and sets the stage for endless hours of fun.

SENIOR LEVEL DESIGNER
REMOTE / WARSAW, POLAND

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working closely with the game director and game designers to establish a plan for the level design throughout the game
  • Establishing design principles and high-quality documentation, including diagrams and flow-charts, that clearly communicate your ideas to the rest of the development team
  • Preparing A/B test scenarios and analysing tester feedback using telemetry/metrics in order to iterate on level designs and prototypes with an emphasis on improving UX
  • Collaborating with team members to develop playable level blockouts complete with scripted events
  • Taking part in sprint plannings, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives, and reporting progress in Jira on a daily basis
  • Problem-solving and taking initiative when things don’t go according to plan
  • Submitting stable level blockouts via Perforce according to deadlines

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A deep understanding of level design theory and the ability to explain concepts to others clearly
  • Industry experience in a senior position and 1 shipped AAA/AA console or PC title, worked on from beginning to end
  • Experience creating levels in Unreal Editor and scripting events using blueprints
  • Up-to-date knowledge and an ongoing interest in Unreal Engine and its level design tools
  • Experience creating TPP games
  • High standards for the use of version control systems, in particular Perforce
  • Good spoken and written English

PLUSES:

  • Experience with Blender, 3DSMax, Maya, or other professional 3D modelling software
  • Experience within the fields of game design or QA
  • Experience working with RenderDoc, Unreal Frontend, or Unreal Insights
  • Degree in video game design, computer science, engineering, or architecture
