We are extensively growing our Global Art Team
1518 are searching for an exceptional Lead Artist to help develop and grow our global Art Teams. You should be a confident, enthusiastic creative and inspirational leader unafraid to be an advocate for the Art Teams with the ability to have a holistic approach on how art impacts the gaming development lifecycle. With a passion for excellence, you will drive consistent working practices, set high standards, mentor and support the full Art operation.

The role of Lead Artist is to lead and motivate a team of talented 3D Artists in delivering immersive worlds and AAA quality assets. This position entails a great deal of responsibility and opportunity to drive further the development of strong team and for which your artistic, technical and managerial expertise are with great importance. As a Lead Artist your job is to plan, organize, follow-up and evaluate their work in order to ensure that they meet the production objectives in terms of time and quality. In this role you are required to anticipate and find solutions on team and production level in order to deliver stunning visual experience of the project

Responsibilities
Lead artistic team in development of NFT/mobile/casual/semi-casual quality environments and propsManage, motivate and grow a multidisciplinary team of art leads and artists who are chartered with defining the visual targets and the execution of art assets for the variety of projects.
Maintain a long-term view of the Art Teams project needs and provide solutions for resourcing.
Manage and support the Art Director and Art Leads to ensure that Art quality is maintained and improved
Review, direct and provide positive constructive feedback and creative leadership to identify and resolve any issues related to art production.
Evangelise and spread consistency in working practices both within the Art Teams. .
Work with the Art Director to ensure working practices are regularly reviewed and improved where needed.
Be an advocate and spokesperson for the Art Teams.
Regularly update senior management on status and progress of production issues.
Actively participate in multi-discipline stakeholder meetings and champion the Art Teams requirements/needs
Collaborate with Producers and other staff to identify and resolve art workflow and staffing issues.

3+ years’ of experience as an Art Outsourcing manager, Art Manager or Art Lead within the Game Development arena.
Excellent understanding of form, shape, structure and silhouette in regard to modeling
Experience with a range of production toolsets and knowledge of 3D Art Tools (e.g. Shotgun, Jira, Trello, Pshop, Maya, Modo other)
Familiar with the language and the tools used to create art within the Gamedev space (Maya, 3ds Max, substance painter, etc)
Familiar with CRM systems (JIRA, Trello, Shotgun etc.)
Assigning and managing team individual tasks, tracking them on daily basis
Ensuring that project meets dead-lines, delivering product of required quality and staying within allocated budget
The ability to define a high calibre vision for AAA Art production working practices and ensure its implementation.
Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in games or analogous industry.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Proven experience of driving and supporting artists across multiple art disciplines and workflows.
Worked collaboratively and productively in cross discipline teams.
Be self-motivated and self-sufficient.
Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills to support delivery of a clear artistic vision projects both internally and externally.
Mastery in identifying workflow issues identifying resolutions and the ability to implement them.
A commitment to raising the bar for the art teams and the studio as a whole.
A strong understanding of current game technology and it’s future ambitions.
Be able to display example of previews production workflows and asset tracking that you have developed and implemented
Understand the importance of delivery and its impact on all disciplines.
Strong aesthetic judgement.

Nice to have
Shipped AAA titles as a Studio Art Manager or equivalent.
Developing games from existing IPs or franchises
High volumes of asset production and tracking
Basic knowledge of Game Engine technologies such as Unreal, Unity, etc.
