We are looking for a Game Writer to join our team in the development of our next title - a life sim RPG about the ups and downs of everyday life in a floating village, which will be released in cooperation with Focus Entertainment.

Game Writer

Responsibilities

• crafting branching stories and writing dialogue for the game;
• cooperating with the narrative team to plan and structure the game’s quests, systemic text, and narrative pipelines;
• implementing and iterating quests, events and dialog structures;
• creating technical designs for narrative systems and cooperating with the rest of the team on implementing them;
• maintaining a list of the game’s systemic text to ensure it is not overlooked;
• taking part in sprint events with the rest of the team, including planning sessions and daily scrums;
• reporting progress in our tracking tools.

Requirements

• native or at least C1 level English;
• game development experience in a writing or narrative design role, ideally in writing branching and non-linear dialogue for games;
• 3 years of experience in a similar role and at least one shipped title;
• experience working with Unreal Engine, in particular with blueprints;
• content editing and copy editing are a breeze and you can do these without issue;
• you enjoy the research aspect of narrative design and dig into the details with factual background information to better inform your work.

Different Tales is a mostly remote work environment, but people living in Warsaw have the possibility to work hybrid or in-office if desired.
