Material Artist

Anshar Studios is looking for a talented Material Artist to join our team on-site in Katowice or remotely from Poland.


  • Creation and optimization of Texture/Material
  • UV layout for tiling and 0-1 mapped textures
  • Continuous growth and knowledge sharing
  • Manage texture and shader efficiency
  • Create benchmark environment surfaces that set high visual and technical standards
  • Imagine, craft and produce textures, surfaces, and materials that range from realistic to stylized
  • Collaborate closely with 3D modelers and Tech Art
  • Match art styles defined by the art director/concept art


  • High-quality portfolio (tiling, masked, atlas, trim sheet of efficient node-based materials)
  • Solid understanding of visual language - texture, color, scale, composition, proportion, lighting, etc
  • Experience working on environments Texture/Material Artist or similar for games
  • Experience in multiple surfacing applications (eg. Substance Suite, Quixel Mixer)
  • Ability to create proper UV layout and tiling textures for games
  • Working experience with baking textures from high res meshes
  • Solid understanding of PBR Workflows, UVs, and surface/light interactions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong knowledge of the latest trends, technologies, and tools for creating game visuals
  • File organization and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience
  • Intermediate English (B1/B2 level)


  • Experience with shipping titles on consoles (Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Ps4)
  • Experience using unreal materials and physically based rendering (PBR) workflows
  • Ability to sculpt and paint highly detailed 3D and 2D images
  • Experience in Blender, Zbrush, Mari, or similar
  • Experience in photography and photogrammetry
  • Knowledge about material blending systems
  • Passion for video games
  • Strong artistic skills in some field (modeling, texturing, etc.)
  • Fluent English (C1/C2 level)
