Senior Artist (generalist)

BLACK SAIL GAMES is looking for an experienced, talented Senior Generalist Artist to join the crew.

We are a band of game developers who share a common past, working on various projects and have the combined experience of a century in making games - which doesn´t mean that we´re that old though.
Our aspiration is to craft game experiences that tell exciting stories and treat contemporary subjects in a playful way.

Responsibilities

• Create concept paintings and other benchmark assets that establish quality expectations and inspire others
• A proven ability to visually tackle problems in collaboration with the broader game team, including other artists, designers, and programmers
• Collaborate with the team across the company in defining and continuing to develop a studio specific unique visual style
• Proven experience directing and supporting a development team across multiple disciplines
• Collaborate with production to ensure schedules and plans meet business and project needs

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience crafting video game art
• At least one shipped title on current gen PC/console
• You shine in a collaborative work culture, and enjoy working with others
• You take initiative to solve problems and you have a solid follow-through
• Extensive experience developing a unique and cohesive visual style in a team environment
• Proven track record of delivering clear and consistent visual feedback that elevates the art team’s work
• A desire to work closely with game design to make sure the game's art improves the player experience
• An ability and desire to explore a wide variety of ideas to push Black Sail Games’ art style
• Solid English language skills (verbal and written)

Nice to have

• Real passion for video games.
• Knowledge of contemporary visual design trends
• Knowledge of 3D visual creation software
