2D Artist / Illustrator a.k.a. Wicked Ink-Visitor

Vile Monarch, a hard rock games studio from Warsaw, is looking for someone who has great ideas (“Yay, finally something for me!”) and knows how to get shit done (“Oh, too bad…”). Currently the Monarch leads more than 25 minions, including some veterans (who worked on This War of Mine, The Witcher series or Hard West) and in the four years of his reign shipped 4 successful games, conquering PC, Android, iOS, PS4, Xbox One and Switch.

• Weedcraft Inc - big and ambitious tycoon game about the marijuana industry

Vile Monarch feeds on creativity - we love making fresh things of different sizes, for different platforms, in different genres. But always with a twist. Currently we’re working on several new titles, including a beautiful and surprising casual game, that takes place in an everyday setting, with graphics slightly inspired by Studio Ghibli's films. It’s in need of a creative 2D artist with experience in digital painting - backgrounds and/or characters.

Requirements

• Ability to draw characters or backgrounds (or both) in a soothing, Ghibli-inspired style
• Ability to draw stylised, line-based characters (e.g. in Djamila Knopf's style)
• Great portfolio showcasing digital art, illustration and strong art fundamentals
• Thorough knowledge of art tools, especially Photoshop (or equivalent)
• Discipline and self-reliance, organized work style

Nice to have

• Willingness to work full-time in Warsaw - but remote work is also possible
• Participation in finished projects, especially casual games, visual novels, adventure
• Prior work in Unity
• Experience in various kinds of 2D art - assets, UI art, concepts, etc.
• Love for beer, rock music and “Zimna Lufa” by Mr. Stachursky.
