Responsibilities:

  • Script, layout, and incorporate in-game and/or pre-rendered cutscenes, narrative events and cinematic elements using the Unity Engine and a set of in-house tools
  • Work closely with animators, narrative and level designers to ensure that the in-game cinematics perfectly match both the story and gameplay flow
  • Work closely with the art and design directors to ensure a high degree of quality on all cutscenes
  • Assist in the documentation of cinematic development processes and technique
  • Willing to provide and accept guidance and assistance where required
  • Show a strong passion for making the highest quality, state-of-the-art games
  • Contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of professional experience in game development in a cinematic/cutscene artist/design capacity, with at least one shipped title
  • Experience, understanding, and ability to build high-quality cutscenes and narrative events with a focus on cinematic techniques including: camera angles, scene layout, actor blocking, color and lighting design
  • A thorough understanding of cinematic production pipelines and the processes involved from the conceptual phase to implementation
  • Understanding of animation, timing, staging, and storytelling techniques
  • A clear understanding of film language, cinematography, composition, continuity, and camera angle choice
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and act on feedback from the team Passion and constant drive to stay up to date with the latest technology and new techniques

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Unity Engine
  • Storyboarding skills
  • Experience in using scripting tools including: in-game interactive sequences, scenario design, action/event sequencing etc.
  • Cinematography knowledge
  • Strong interest in story-driven games
  • Filmmaking experience
