PolyAmorous is an ambitious indie team based in Warsaw, Poland. Our first game, the post-apocalyptic narrative adventure Paradise Lost, launched in March 2021 on PC/PS4/Xbox.

We’re looking for a concept artist to play a key role in the development of our new title. In close cooperation with the art director and game director, you’ll help bring to life the artistic vision of the game and support the dev team as they turn your concepts into 3D.

CONCEPT ARTIST - FREELANCER (3-6 month contract)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with the art director to translate their vision into a range of concept art and documentation for the team’s artists to reference and follow
  • Researching reference material to share with the team and use as the basis for convincing concepts
  • Providing artists with feedback in the form of additional concept art, reference material, and paint overs
  • Taking part in sprint plannings, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives, and reporting progress in Jira on a daily basis

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A portfolio showcasing a strong understanding of anatomy, perspective, design esthetics, and sufficient rendering skills that your work can be translated into 3D
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a concept artist in the gamedev industry
  • An ability to quickly compose moodboards or storyboard sketches if needed
  • A keen mind for independent research on the topics you are asked to concept
  • Delivering your work in cleancut stages and the ability to receive and implement feedback on it
  • Familiar with game development and the unique performance requirements and limitations of game art assets
  • Expert understanding of 2D-focused software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or Corel Painter
  • Good spoken and written English

PLUSES:

  • Experience working on a shipped video game
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with the impasto technique
  • Examples of the impasto technique in use in your portfolio
  • An understanding of 3D software such as 3DSMAX, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Maya or Blender
