Environment Artist

We are Starward Industries. Our story began in 2018 with the concept of AA narrative game – The Invincible – based on the motifs of an iconic novel by Stanisław Lem. You can find all information and links on our website.

And so, we are currently looking for a new Environment Artist to help us make meaningful entertainment!

Workplace: ul. Przemysłowa 12, Kraków (with a possibility of remote work a few days a week)



What would you help us with?

▷ Creating The Invincible scenery in Unreal Engine 4
▷ Creating textures, materials, and environment objects
▷ Co-creating the game environment concept with us
▷ Cooperating with different developers to create a truly immersive experience for many gamers



What do you need?

▷ At least 1 year of experience in a similar position
▷ Basic knowledge of physically based rendering (PBR)
▷ Basic knowledge of Level Design
▷ Good knowledge of composition, color theory, and lighting/illumination
▷ Familiarity with environment storytelling concept
▷ Familiarity with at least one 3D modeling software (3DS Max/Maya/Blender) and familiarity with Adobe Substance 3D
▷ Ability to work at various levels of detail - the ability of fast prototyping and pushing the final quality
▷ Willingness to constantly develop, improve and expand the range of skills



What else would we appreciate?

▷ Experience in working on narrative singleplayer FPP or TPP games
▷ Being able to optimize environment art and world-building to fit within performance metrics
▷ Good knowledge of Jira, Perforce, Slack
▷ Interest in science-fiction games, movies, series, and books
▷ Familiarity with Stanisław Lem books
