We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to help build, maintain, and improve the automated tests across our backend infrastructure. Reporting into the Server QA Manager, you will work closely with our Server QA, Infrastructure, Server development and CI teams to establish a foundation of automated tests to both improve QA efficiency and extend our quality coverage. You will additionally be involved in issue investigation and the writing and sharing of technical documentation.

We are looking for someone who has/is:

  • A strong understanding of the QA Life Cycle and where automation can better process and efficiency
  • Experience with programming languages used for API testing (Java, JS or similar)
  • Experience with tooling to automate API testing (Postman, Swagger, REST-Assured, JMeter or similar)
  • Advocate good engineering practices such as Test Driven Development and SOLID principles
  • Experienced with project dependency management tools such as Gradle or Maven
  • Experienced in Continuous Integration/Deployment and its benefits (Team City, Jenkins or similar)
  • Be knowledgeable in scripting (Bash, Python, others)
  • Experienced with source control versioning tools work (Git/Gitflow)
  • Experience with mocking services for testing purposes
  • Demonstrable experience testing microservices
  • Demonstrable experience in end to end test automation
  • Demonstrable experience working in embedded teams in an Agile environment and collaborating with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience troubleshooting and flagging issues
  • Demonstrable experience reporting the results of tests executed and providing a quality assessment of the services being tested
  • Have Docker / Kubernetes experience (considered a plus)
  • A Computer Science (or related field) degree (considered a plus)
