At Metrea Simulations we are using Unreal Engine to build a military simulator targeting professional market. One of the goals is to provide clients with an affordable, modern and realistic tool to improve training.

We are looking for programmers of any experience level (junior/mid/senior) to work on developing engine features that support displaying our in-game world and allow simulation programmers to implement needed systems. If you are looking forward to solving hard technical problems and can go deep into understanding underlying codebase while keeping performance in mind, we will be a good match for you.

You can work remotely; we also have offices in Warsaw and Stockholm.

The role:

This role means helping with building our more core and technological systems crucial for displaying the world in a way that we envision. It includes: in-house terrain rendering system, open world day-night cycles, radar, or infrared rendering, large world rendering and many more. Additionally, you would need to jump into UE5’s Nanite and Lumen to make sure they can work for our setup. Finally, since many existing rendering features of Unreal don’t cut it for our scenarios, you would have to adapt them or create working replacements.

Requirements:

  • Professional experience as a C++ programmer
  • Knowledge of rendering topics, both high level approaches and actual APIs
  • Willingness to learn, cooperate and solve difficult problems
  • Good spoken and written English skills

Ideal candidate would have some of:

  • Have worked as a rendering programmer on a AAA title
  • Good knowledge of Unreal Engine’s rendering pipeline
  • Being a flight sim enthusiast
  • Proficient with tools like RenderDoc, PIX, Nsight
