We are based in Warsaw and currently fully remote. We would love to be able to meet on a regular basis once we have an office but different levels of remote work will always be an option.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Lead/Senior Gameplay Designer and other team members to implement game mechanics, systems, and features that enhance the overall gameplay experience.
  • Participate and/or assist in creation and maintenance of design documentation, including design specifications, feature breakdowns, and tuning parameters.
  • Participate in playtests to gather and analyze player feedback to identify opportunities for improving the game's mechanics and systems.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines (such as art, programming, and audio) to ensure that gameplay design goals are achieved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work with production to ensure that gameplay design goals are aligned with project schedules and budgets.
  • Take charge of your self-development by making sure to expand your knowledge, staying up-to-date with industry trends and innovations in gameplay design, and applying that knowledge to the project where appropriate.
  • Participate in hiring and recruiting efforts to build a strong and diverse gameplay design team.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience as a gameplay designer on at least one shipped title.
  • Understanding of game systems and mechanics, and ability to balance game systems for optimal player experience.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines by providing constructive feedback to team members as well as willingness to take feedback from others.
  • Experience with commercial and/or in-house game engines and development tools.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and make informed design decisions.
  • Passion for games and a deep understanding of player psychology and behavior.

Pluses

  • Experience with a variety of different game engines.
  • Experience with scripting/programming languages.
  • Experience with working with different platforms (ie. PC, various game consoles).
  • Experience communicating with external partners.
