We are looking for an experienced Mid/Senior Game Designer with a passion for horror games to join our team working on an indie project. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for shaping the player experience, creating compelling gameplay mechanics, and driving the design vision forward. If you have a deep understanding of horror game design, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to turn creative concepts into engaging features, we would love to hear from you.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional game design experience, with at least one shipped title (preferably in the horror genre or another atmosphere-heavy game, developed in Unreal Engine)
- Experience with Level, Player Character, Enemy design, and all aspects of horror game design
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills with programmers, artists, and other team members involved in the project as required to create the highest possible quality product
- Ability to concisely articulate game concepts and analyze game mechanics
- A broad and deep knowledge of systems and content design
Responsibilities
- Take ownership and drive forward all design aspects
- Set standards for design team on the project, and ensure delivery on time to quality
- Lead the design team in creating new and engaging features and content, aligned with the business goals of the project
- Create and maintain design documentation
- Respond to and implement feedback from data, reviews, and play tests
- Provide feedback on all aspects of design in reviews
- Prototype design ideas in-game and iterate through play testing
- Identify risks for the team and proposes mitigations
- Partner with other disciplines to ensure your content and features are delivered to the highest quality
- Guide change through research and live data
