Covenant is a Warsaw-based game development studio dedicated to crafting unique, high-quality gaming experiences. Led by a former CD Projekt RED producer, it operates with a lean, agile structure that prioritizes creativity, empowerment, and a crunch-free work culture—earning the title "Best Place to Work" in 2021.
Covenant debuted with the dark fantasy strategy game Gord (PC, XBX|S, PS5) in 2023, followed by its expansion, The Alliance, and Across the Wonderlands – Appetizer Demo (PC) in 2024.
The studio is currently developing a new dark fantasy RTS game, codenamed DOLYA.
Responsibilities
- Implement features and mechanics according to the specified documentation
- Develop core game systems using Unreal Engine and C++
- Co-create a project schedule, roadmap, technical feature design, plans, milestones, and tasks with a dedicated Producer
- Collaborate with game designers, artists, and other departments to implement game features and systems
- Optimize and debug game code to ensure performance and stability
- Implement and maintain coding standards, best practices, and documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Contribute to the overall game design and vision
- Demonstrate care and commitment to quality software development
- Communicate effectively via the Project Management System (ClickUp), providing regular time estimates and maintaining up-to-date worklogs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest game development technologies and industry trends
Requirements
- 3+ years of game development experience, with at least 2 years focused on Unreal Engine
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine development
- Strong C++ programming skills with a focus on game development
- Extensive experience with Blueprint visual scripting
- Proficiency in using version control systems such as Git or Perforce
- Good understanding of 3D math, physics, and game engine architecture
- Proven track record in performance optimization for games
- Solid grasp of game design principles and their technical implementation
- Good time management skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with project management software such as JIRA or ClickUp
- Experience using internal wikis like Confluence or ClickUp Wiki
- Proficient in Google Workspace tools, including Drive, Docs, and Spreadsheets
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of the game development industry and production pipelines
- Advanced English (B2/C1 level)
Nice-to-have
- Shipped at least one commercially available game
- Experience with multiplayer game development and networking
- Experience in AI and/or Animation programming
- Experience in other programming languages, such as C# or Python
- Experience with cross-platform development
- Fluent English (C1/C2 level)
- Experience in DevOps tasks
- Experience in using AI tools in writing code
- Experience in writing automated tests

- Salary: 8,000–16,000 PLN net/month (B2B contract), or the equivalent amount adjusted for an employment contract, depending on skills and experience
