For our brave tribe Black Drakkar Games we are looking for an experienced Sound Design Enchantress/Enchanter (Sound Designer).

We are a young developers' studio established by industry veterans and powered by very experienced and perfectly harmonized individuals. We are a Polish company based in Warsaw, hidden in the silence and greenery of Fort Mokotow. Our team co-develops various game projects.

Currently, one of the ongoing projects we are involved in is an unannounced Sci-Fi game based on a popular IP and developed in Unreal Engine 5.  For this project, we are seeking a talented Sound Designer who will play a key role in supporting the development team by designing and implementing high-quality sound effects that bring our creative vision to life.

What will be your main responsibilities?

  • Designing and producing high-quality sound effects in a DAW environment, fully prepared for implementation into Wwise.
  • Implementing sound assets directly into the game using Unreal Engine 5 and Wwise.
  • Creating audio for a wide range of game elements, including gameplay mechanics, UI, environmental ambience, character Foley, and location-specific atmospheres.
  • Cooperating with the Game Design Team, the Game Director, the Art Director, and the other members of the development team to enhance gameplay through sound, including prototypes at early-stage.
  • Designing and implementing audio for in-game animations and cinematic sequences. Maintaining organized audio documentation and ensuring consistency across the game.
  • Defining, planning, and estimating the work required to bring the project to delivery in the desired state.
  • Supporting the pipelines for creating and implementing sound effects.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Sound Designer in game development, preferably in AA/AAA projects.
  • Solid working knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
  • Proficiency with Wwise, ideally with a shipped title to showcase your implementation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams.
  • English proficiency at a communicative level (written and spoken).
  • A passion for game development and the ability to both inspire and execute.

Additional advantages would be:

  • Experience working with Blueprints.
  • Maintaining and recording your own sound effect libraries.
  • Passion for immersive storytelling through sound and a sharp ear for detail.
