Process & People Lead

dla SUPER PICKLE GAMES w remote

Praca stała Zarządzanie

About the Role

Super Pickle Games is a growing indie mobile game studio. We work async-first, use Kanban, and believe the best decisions are made by the people closest to the work. We're not building a hierarchy - we're building a team that knows how to lead itself.

You'll be the connective tissue of our studio - keeping our art, development, game design, and QA teams aligned, productive, and genuinely happy with how they work together. This is a people-and-process role, not a ticket-tracking role. You'll own how we work, not what we build.

As the studio grows, so will this role - you'll help us find the right tools, shape the right processes, and evolve both as the project matures.

This role has no direct reports and no formal authority. What it has is trust, access, and real influence over how 15+ people experience their work every day. Your success is measured by how much the team has internalized the way of working you helped create - and how rarely things need to escalate.

What You'll Do

Process & Flow (approx. 50%)

  • Own and facilitate team ceremonies - dailies, retrospectives, cross-team feedback sessions - and evolve them when they stop serving the team
  • Coordinate work across art, dev, game design, and QA - make sure nothing falls through the cracks and everyone knows what's priority
  • Keep an eye on Kanban flow: surface bottlenecks, WIP overload, and blocked work before they become frustration
  • Ensure every task has a clear owner, deadlines are realistic, and the team stays focused on what matters most
  • Evaluate and recommend tools that fit how we actually work - and evolve both tools and processes as the project and team mature
  • Introduce rituals that fit how creative people actually work - lightweight, purposeful, easy to drop if they stop adding value
  • Help coordinate feedback calls and playtest sessions across teams

Documentation & Information Flow (approx. 30%)

  • Champion a culture where shared knowledge belongs to everyone, not just to whoever was in the meeting
  • Help establish a single source of truth - so anyone can find what they need without asking
  • Work with leads to ensure decisions, design rationale, and priorities are written down and accessible
  • You don't write everything - you build the system and the habit so the team owns it

People Health (approx. 20%)

  • Notice friction early - manage interpersonal tensions and address them constructively before they compound
  • Run regular, lightweight check-ins - not performance reviews, just honest conversations
  • Help maintain a culture where feedback flows naturally - peer-to-peer, not just top-down
  • Be someone the team can talk to as a human being, not just a process function

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years in production, project management, or a coordination role - ideally in games or software
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrids) and when to apply which
  • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams - artists, engineers, designers, QA
  • You work through influence, not authority - and you're genuinely comfortable with that
  • You run retrospectives and meetings that produce real change, not just lists of action points that disappear
  • High emotional intelligence - you read situations well, step in early on friction, and know when to step back
  • Self-starter who thrives in a remote, flat, self-organizing environment
  • Fluent in Polish (working language of the studio) and good in English (documentation language)

Nice to Have

  • Background in game development or creative/tech studios
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Notion, Linear, or Confluence
  • Certified Scrum Master, SAFe, or equivalent - not required, but noted
  • Familiarity with NVC (Nonviolent Communication) or similar frameworks for honest dialogue
  • Passion for games - you don't need a dev background, but if you care about what we're making, it shows

What We Offer

  • B2B contract
  • Part-time job (~20h/week) with a clear path to full-time as the studio grows
  • 110-150 zł / h net
  • Fully remote work with flexible hours - we care about output, not presence
  • A flat structure where your voice shapes how the studio operates
  • A team of 15+ people that is honest, self-aware, and actively wants to improve
  • Real influence with no bureaucratic layers between you and the people you're helping
