Wojan Studio is looking for an experienced Art Director to define and lead the visual development of our upcoming 3D animated feature film.
As we build our animation team in Warsaw, Poland, we are seeking a creative leader who will play a key role in establishing the artistic identity of an ambitious family-oriented animated production. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a feature film from its earliest stages while working alongside talented artists, storytellers, and technical specialists.
This is an on-site only position based in our Warsaw office
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the artistic vision of a 3D animated feature film.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of artists, including Concept Artists, Animators, Environment Artists, Lighting Artists, and other visual development specialists.
- Establish and communicate visual direction through concept art, mood boards, color scripts, and visual references.
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Director, Director, Producers, Investors, and Department Leads to define and maintain the project's creative, artistic, and visual direction.
- Review artistic work, provide constructive feedback, and mentor team members to support their professional growth.
- Participate in key creative decisions regarding characters, environments, cinematography, lighting, color, and overall visual language.
- Ensure consistency of style, quality, and storytelling across all visual aspects of the production.
- Guide visual development and oversee artistic quality throughout all stages of production, from pre-production through final delivery.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as an Art Director in animation, film, TV, or games.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary art teams and defining the visual direction of stylized animated productions.
- Strong understanding of the full 3D animation production pipeline, from visual development and pre-production through final delivery.
- Passion for animated storytelling aimed at younger audiences, supported by significant professional achievements in children's or family-oriented productions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
- Professional working proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
Pluses:
- Experience working on animated feature films, TV series, or high-end game cinematic productions.
- Credited on at least one released animated feature film, TV series, cinematic production, or comparable large-scale visual project in a senior artistic role.
- Strong background in traditional fine arts, with long-term experience in Concept Art, Visual Development, or Digital Painting.
