Wojan Studio is looking for a 3D Generalist to join the team for our upcoming 3D animated feature film. This is a great opportunity for a mid-level artist to work on memorable worlds and stylized locations while developing their skills alongside experienced artists, producers, and industry professionals throughout the filmmaking process.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys cartoony and stylized 3D, especially projects aimed at children and family audiences. You don’t need to have worked on a feature film before - we’re interested in artists with a solid foundation, a good eye for design, and a portfolio that shows their approach to creating environments, props, or other 3D assets.
We’re looking for candidates at Mid level, with several open positions currently available. This is an on-site position only.
Our studio is based in Warsaw, Poland.
Responsibilities
- Create and develop environment assets for a 3D animated feature film, based on concept art and the project’s visual direction.
- Model, sculpt, texture, and prepare basic shading for stylized environments, props, and set elements.
- Build assets such as terrain, vegetation, architecture, rocks, and set dressing elements.
- Work with existing assets and help adapt, refine, and prepare them for use in different shots and environments.
- Collaborate with the Environment Lead, Art Director, and other team members to find practical and visually appealing solutions.
- Participate in reviews, ask questions, respond to feedback, and iterate on your work throughout production.
- Keep your assets organized and follow the studio’s production guidelines and pipeline requirements.
Requirements
- Around 2–3 years of experience as an Environment Artist, 3D Generalist, or in a similar role. Experience in animation, games, commercials, cinematics, or personal projects is welcome.
- A good understanding of the basics of stylized environment creation and 3D production.
- Experience with modeling, UVs, texturing, and basic shading.
- Ability to create or adapt environment assets based on concept art and references.
- Experience with Maya or Blender. Familiarity with Substance Painter, ZBrush, or similar tools.
- Openness to feedback and willingness to collaborate with other artists and departments.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
Pluses
- Experience working on animated films, series, commercials, game cinematics, or other collaborative CG projects.
- Experience with stylized, cartoony, or family-oriented projects.
- Interest in one or more areas such as hard-surface modeling, look development, lighting, procedural asset creation, or vegetation.
- Basic knowledge of Houdini or interest in learning it for environment creation.
- Experience with set dressing, layout, or assembling environments from existing assets.
We Offer
- The opportunity to work on a feature-length animated film as part of a collaborative environment team.
- A role where you can grow your skills and gain experience across different stages of the production process.
- Support and feedback from experienced artists and animation industry professionals.
- The chance to work on stylized worlds and characters aimed at children and family audiences.
- Competitive compensation.
- An on-site position in Warsaw, Poland.
