Litio Games is an indie studio on a mission to craft unforgettable, atmospheric horror games with strong cooperative mechanics. We're deep into the development of our debut PC and console title—a haunting, technically ambitious multiplayer experience—and we’re looking for a Lead C++ Engineer with deep Unreal Engine 5 expertise to shape the engineering vision and help guide our talented team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the technical direction of our game, driving architecture and implementation of gameplay and systems code using C++ and Blueprints.
  • Manage and mentor a growing team of engineers, fostering clear communication and technical excellence across gameplay, networking, and backend domains.
  • Architect and optimize core systems, from AI, procedural systems, and multiplayer networking to rendering and asset pipelines.
  • Drive performance optimization for both PC and consoles (e.g., Unreal's GPU/CPU profiling, level streaming, memory).
  • Work collaboratively across disciplines—design, art, sound—to ensure a cohesive and immersive player experience.
  • Champion code quality, scalability, and clean architecture, laying the groundwork for ongoing development and future content expansion.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years professional experience in game development, with a strong emphasis on Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5).
  • Mastery of C++, object-oriented programming, and systems design.
  • Deep understanding of Unreal internals, including networking (Replication, RPCs), physics, animation, and gameplay systems.
  • Experience shipping or leading the development of multiplayer games (especially in horror, survival, or co-op genres).
  • Proven leadership experience, capable of organizing teams and delivering high-quality code on schedule.
  • Strong skills in performance optimization, debugging, and cross-platform development (PC, consoles).
  • Fluent in using both C++ and Blueprints as tools for feature development and prototyping.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Online Subsystems (EOS, Steam, PlayFab, etc.) and dedicated server architecture.
  • Experience with procedural generation, advanced AI, or horror-specific mechanics (fear systems, audio triggers, etc.).
  • Backend experience (Node.js, Go, Python) or cloud integration (AWS, Firebase) is a plus.
