Freelance Native English game tester (Localization Review)

We are looking for a tester to assess the linguistic accuracy of our game. This assignment aims to evaluate whether the English translation is suitable for the U.S. market and meets high-quality standards.

Scope of Work:

• Review all in-game text for grammar, clarity, and cultural fit.

• Ensure that the terminology used in the user interface (UI) is error-free and aligned with industry standards.

• Evaluate whether the humor in the game is understandable and culturally appropriate for US players.

Collaboration:

The project is a one-time assignment and should be completed within the time frame proposed by the contractor. We prefer daily communication via a messaging platform (e.g. Slack, Discord) and the ability to give and receive feedback in real time.

Requirements:

• Proven commercial experience in manual QA in games.
• Familiarity with the video game industry (preferred city builder genre).
• Native speaker of English: Strong communication skills and ability to clearly convey information.
• The ideal candidate should feel comfortable testing the mentioned aspects directly in the game.
