📝 Work Description

We are seeking a Game Designer to help define and shape the core gameplay of our projects. This role works closely with all team members to ensure the game is fully designed on paper and built as intended. The ideal candidate is comfortable contributing directly inside Unreal Engine as a generalist, supporting implementation and iteration, and not just working purely in documentation.

🥸 Responsibilities

  • Define and document core gameplay loops, mechanics, and systems
  • Design endurance-based gameplay, progression, and difficulty scaling
  • Create rulesets for procedural or semi-procedural gameplay scenarios
  • Ensure gameplay systems are reusable and scalable across multiple titles
  • Work closely with the project manager to align design, scope, and implementation
  • Collaborate with programmers to translate design intent into in-engine solutions
  • Contribute directly in Unreal Engine (Blueprints, data setup, tuning) where needed
  • Iterate on gameplay based on playtesting and team feedback

✅ Requirements

  • Proven past experience in game design
  • Strong understanding of player psychology, feedback loops, and decision-making
  • Experience designing scalable systems rather than linear, content-heavy gameplay
  • Practical familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 workflows
  • Blueprint experience or UE generalist experience is required
  • Understanding of VR design constraints and performance considerations
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas through documentation and in-engine examples
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small team environment
  • Interest in inspection, simulation, or role-based gameplay
  • Experience working on VR or VR-adjacent projects
  • Experience designing for replayability and procedural variety
