PixelAnt Games is an expert co-development and porting studio based in Poland, with a proven track record on titles such as Gears of War: Reloaded, Mortal Kombat 1, Forza Motorsport, and  The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
We place a strong focus on delivery and promise our clients high-quality results – on time and within budget. Many of our projects focus on porting and optimization, but we also work on partial and full development projects. Co-development is a significant part of what we do, while we increase our focus on porting, bringing games to the latest platforms like Nintendo Switch 2. Our latest project highlights include fully optimized Nintendo Switch 2 ports of Cronos: The New Dawn and Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition.

Role description:

Our Software Engineers are the engine behind our technical excellence. You’ll play a vital part in shaping the technical side of our games – tackling performance and memory optimization, building platform-specific features and integrations, fixing GPU issues across platforms, implementing new graphics algorithms, and maintaining reliable, well-tested code throughout the development lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams through agile workflows, ensuring our projects are delivered with peak performance and full compliance with certification requirements.

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in C/C++, with at least 3 years of proven commercial experience in game development
  • Solid background in 3D and maths, especially in geometry and algebra
  • Thorough knowledge of modern graphics APIs (e.g., D3D12, Vulkan)
  • Hands-on experience with shaders (e.g., HLSL, GLSL, Slang)
  • Experience using frame debuggers (e.g., RenderDoc, PIX, NSight)
  • Deep understanding of modern hardware and GPU architecture
  • Practical experience with GPU optimization
  • Solid grasp of graphics concepts and pipelines (materials, deferred/forward rendering, lighting, ray tracing, etc.)
  • Good communication skills and experience collaborating with tech art and art teams
  • Experience with working on console platforms
  • Fluent and confident communication in English and Polish

Nice to have:

  • Shipped at least one AAA or AA game
  • Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine
  • Proven ability to fix GPU crashes (e.g., NVIDIA Aftermath, Unreal breadcrumbs)
  • Knowledge of console requirements and certification processes
  • Experience with CPU and RAM optimization
  • Networking experience (TCP/IP, UDP, both client-server and peer-to-peer)
  • Programming experience with C# or Python Passion for gaming and hands-on player experience will be a plus.
