Join our team as a Gameplay Designer and help us polish a high-profile survival horror project developed for a major UK client.
We're looking for an experienced Gameplay Designer to join an already advanced-stage production. This is not a concept or prototype phase - the core game is in place, and we're looking for someone who can identify weak spots, improve player experience, refine existing systems, and help deliver a polished final product.
You will work directly with our UK client, collaborating closely with both development teams and taking ownership of gameplay improvements throughout the final stages of production.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing gameplay systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Balance combat, exploration, progression, and resource management.
- Refine player experience based on playtests and internal feedback.
- Design improvements to existing mechanics while respecting the established vision.
- Create concise and well-structured design documentation when necessary.
- Work closely with programmers, artists, QA, and producers.
- Communicate directly with the client and participate in design discussions.
- Ensure proposed changes are realistic, technically feasible, and production-friendly.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional Game Designer experience.
- Documented commercial experience working on at least one Survival Horror game (required).
- Strong understanding of survival horror design principles, including pacing, tension building, resource economy, player psychology, and environmental storytelling.
- Proven experience balancing gameplay systems and improving existing mechanics.
- Ability to critically analyze gameplay and propose practical solutions.
- Experience preparing clear and structured design documentation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Professional English (B2/C1 minimum) - you will be communicating with UK based client from time to time.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned areas.
Nice to Have
- Experience working on AA or AAA titles.
- Experience in Unity and/or Unreal Engine.
- Experience collaborating directly with external publishers or clients.
- Portfolio showcasing shipped commercial projects.
