Job Description - Capture Artist & Video Editor

The Black Lantern Collective is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy Capture Artist & Video Editor to join our marketing team. As a member of the marketing team, you will concept and create digital media marketing materials that drive viewership and engagement while matching the unique aesthetics of our titles. The ideal candidate has existing experience with industry-standard tools and knowledge of core artistic principles such as composition, pacing, and visual storytelling. Additionally, they demonstrate an understanding of effective marketing strategies on social media platforms such as Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and Bluesky. This contract position is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize our virtual workspace to track tasks, communicate progress and blockers, and provide status updates.
• Develop concepts for shortform and longform video, trailers, and memes. Write and refine storyboards and scripts that are engaging and optimized for the target platform.
• Gather stills, clips, and recordings of our titles to produce videos, trailers, and other marketing materials.
• Perform professional-level creative work (video and audio editing, animation, etc) on firm deadlines.

Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Familiarity with industry-standard recording and editing tools
• Proven ability to produce professional-quality video such as trailers and shortform video
