3D Environment Artist
We’re looking for a 3D Environment Artist to join Ibru, our investigation-focused RPG set in a dense, hand-crafted science-fantasy world.
This role is production-oriented and hands-on, focused on creating game-ready environment assets and implementing them directly in Unreal Engine.
What you’ll do
- Create modular environment assets (architecture, props, set dressing) for use in Unreal Engine
- Implement assets in-engine, including correct scale, pivots, LODs, collisions, and material setup
- Work within established visual, technical, and performance constraints
- Collaborate with art direction, level design, and technical art to support gameplay and narrative spaces
- Iterate on assets based on in-engine feedback rather than offline renders
What we’re looking for
- Mid-level experience as a 3D Environment Artist (or equivalent production experience)
- Strong understanding of game-ready asset creation
- A portfolio that clearly shows:
- In-engine examples (Unreal Engine screenshots or videos)
- Meshes with visible polycount
- UV layouts
- Wireframes
- Ability to create clean, optimized topology suitable for real-time use
- Familiarity with modular workflows and asset reuse
- Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly
Required tools & skills
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine (implementation, not just export)
- Fluency in a DCC tool such as Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max
- Fluency in digital sculpting Zbrush or 3D coat
- Familiarity with PBR texturing workflow (Substance, Quixel, or equivalent)
- Basic understanding of performance constraints in real-time environments
- Familiarity with trim sheets, texture atlases, and material instances
Nice to have
- Experience with stylized or non-photorealistic environments
- Prior work on narrative-driven or RPG projects
- Familiarity with PCG systems
What we offer
- A clear, focused role on a single ambitious project
- Direct collaboration with art direction and level design
- A production-driven environment with real assets shipping to the game
- Remote-friendly work (with optional on-site collaboration in Poland)
- Fair compensation appropriate to experience
How to apply
Please send:
- A short introduction email
- Your LinkedIn
- A portfolio with in-engine examples showcasing technical breakdowns.
Assets must include wireframes, UVs, and visible polycount.
Applications without in-engine work or technical breakdowns will not be considered
